He is the Founding Director of the Sustainable and Resilient Pavement Materials and Technologies Center at the Louisiana Transportation Research Center. A licensed professional engineer and Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Dr. Mohammad is a recognized leader in pavement engineering, with over 37 years of academic and industry experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His research focuses on highway construction materials, pavement performance, infrastructure sustainability, and advanced material characterization. His pioneering work on tack coat specifications has extended pavement life by about 21%, and his leadership in Balanced Asphalt Mixture Design has reshaped asphalt engineering practices. Dr. Mohammad is also noted for sustainable innovations, such as incorporating recycled waste tires into pavements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has served as PI or co-PI on 73 research projects totaling over $65.2 million, authored more than 410 technical publications, and delivered over 450 presentations globally. His h-index is 57 with over 10,700 citations, placing him among the top 2% of scientists worldwide (Stanford University, 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Mohammad holds leadership positions in ASCE, ASTM, TRB, and AAPT, and currently serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of ASCE\u2019s Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"border-radius:38px\"><strong><strong>Professor Adel O. He also established the <strong>Applied Materials Laboratory<\/strong> in Algeria.
